First, may I begin by saying Congratulations! It is my true pleasure to help mother the mother through pregnancy, labor, and her postpartum period. If you have any questions about the information below, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to answer any questions you have. I have an all-inclusive fee for my labor clients, and I book my postpartum clients in 8-hour packages (2- 4 hour day appointments, or 1 overnight appointment).
Labor clients, after our initial interview, and the decision has been made to hire me, we will schedule an intake meeting. At this time, I will ask a lot of questions which will help me get to know you, your partner, your family, and your hopes for this birth. This will help me custom design your doula services to best meet your needs before during and after labor. We will discuss and sign our contract, and 50% of my fee will be paid to reserve your due date in my schedule. I will take no more than 4 clients in a month, so my books fill up very quickly. Once the contract is signed, I am available to you via text message or phone 24 hours a day. If I cannot take your call immediately, I will return it within one hour. We will schedule two additional meetings prior to your 36th week of pregnancy. Each meeting will be approximately two hours long. During this time we will discuss your labor and postpartum needs in detail and walk through some of the positional changes and coping techniques that I employ. It will also give us time to address any concerns you are having about your pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding, or postpartum experience.
I will be available to join you and your partner at whatever stage is most comfortable for you during your labor. We will discuss this in detail during your prenatal visits. I will stay with you up to two hours after delivery, or at any such time that we both agree it is time for you to rest and bond as a family. If I am unable to attend your birth for an unforeseen reason or conflict, I will call my back-up doula to come in my place until I can arrive. I will pay my partner out of my fee, at no further cost to you. If you would like to meet with my back-up doula ahead of your due date, I would be happy to schedule that for you. I will call you the following day to assess how you are doing and schedule our postpartum visit. I like to do this between a week and 10 days following the birth. At this meeting, we will discuss your birth experience, breastfeeding, newborn care, perineal care, and any ongoing concerns. I can help you find any resources that you would need, and continue to be on-call for any urgent matters.
My fee for a birth is $800.00. The initial payment of $400.00 is due at the signing of our contract, and a payment plan may be agreed upon at that time. The balance of your fee is due by your 36th week of pregnancy. If the balance has not been paid by this time I will reach out to you, to discuss whether you still wish to retain my services. If you do not, you will forfeit your reserved dates and I will not be able to attend your birth or your postpartum visit. You will also forfeit the initial fee as payment for the prenatal visits and loss of potential business. If you do wish to retain me as your doula, we will discuss the best way to meet the agreement quickly.
My Postpartum rates are purchased in packages of 8 hours. You may purchase each 8 hour package for $200.00 ($25.00 per hour) for one baby, or $240.00 ($30.00 per hour) for multiples. I will split the time into 4 hour day shifts, either 8:00am to Noon or 1:00pm to 5:00pm. My Overnight appointments are from 10:00pm to 6:00am at a fee of $250.00 per night for one baby and $300.00 for multiples. I will not schedule more than three overnights a week, so please book these early. During these appointments I will help with caring for you and your baby physically, emotionally, and educationally. I can help with breastfeeding support, postpartum care for mother, newborn care, organization, preparing snacks and light meals for mother, and baby related tidying (cleaning baby clothes, tidying baby’s room, light kitchen cleaning, bottle or breast pump care, etc). Overnights, I will take over primary care of the newborn while you and your partner sleep, and support any schedules you are implementing in your home. I am an EMT and certified in adult, child, and infant CPR. I am a skilled resource who can help you feel confident as you transition into parenthood. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
